liverpool-muralIn 2016, we worked with Network Rail and artist Stephen Broadbent on plans to upgrade a locally significant mural on Trowbridge Street, close to Liverpool Lime Street station.  The project forms part of Network Rail’s programme to upgrade rail services in the Liverpool City region.  The original mural depicts figures of past local residents of the area, many of whose families still live nearby.

Completion of the original mural was rushed so that it could be unveiled by the Queen on a visit to Liverpool in 1999.   The new mural will mirror the design of the original, but will be created from higher quality materials.  We provided consents advice and supported the project team in carrying out a consultation event, at which a positive response was received from local residents and Councillors.

We worked with the Biennial curators and management team at the Park to review the potential planning implications of the outdoor sculptures and installations and progressed applications for the installations that exceeded thresholds for permitted development.
