Infrastructure

Hathersage West crossing 011In February 2018 the Secretary of State for Transport announced the decision to approve new passing facilities on the Manchester to Sheffield Hope Valley route at Bamford and Dore.  RJP acted as the consents advisers on the project and supported the large multi-disciplinary team through the scheme development, application submission and public inquiry.

The proposed works will be in the areas of the Peak District National Park and Sheffield City Council.  We are proud to have worked with Network Rail, Mott MacDonald, Seed Architects, NLG Ecololgy, Eversheds and Landmark Chambers on this important infrastructure investment scheme and delighted that, after a long wait, the scheme has been approved.

RJP is delighted to be working with Mott MacDonald providing expert consents advice on the Northern Powerhouse Rail project.  This is a snap from the 2017 Transcity Rail Dinner, where some of the team got together to pose for the cameras!  For more information about transport strategy and investment plans in the  North of England, go to http://www.transportforthenorth.com/

nw-electificationRJP worked with the Network Rail project management teams progressing three phases of North West Electrification to Blackpool, Preston and to Stalybridge.

Our role was to liaise with project managers and contractors to monitor project activities and identify where planning and related consents, including town planning approvals, footpath diversions and property agreements, would be required.

As part of our service, we worked with teams across Network Rail. This included the town planning team to inform 28 applications for planning approvals and prior approvals; the access and inclusion team to develop 11 Diversity Impact Assessments (DIA); and with the liabilities team to support five applications for footpath diversions and level crossing closures.

img_0220Having advised on GRIP2, we are pleased to be working with Mott MacDonald multi-disciplinary consultants, advising on consents matters for the GRIP3 stage of the Network Rail Crewe Hub project.

first-ground-worksWe joined the Buckingham Contracting Group project team to provide town planning and consents advice on the Network Rail Huyton to Roby project.  Part of our role involved coordination of the scheme application for a Transport and Works Act Order for laying new track on land not, at the time, owned by Network Rail.  The Order application was made in 2014 and was the first secured for the Northern Hub Programme.

Railway StationOur team provided consents management support to Buckingham Group Contracting advising on the remodelling of Liverpool Lime Street Station, a Grade II listed building,  and associated infrastructure works, as part of a programme to upgrade rail services in the Liverpool City Region.

We advised a private property owner affected by the proposed new A556 Knutsford to Bowden alignment. We assembled a team of heritage, highways, noise, and planning advisors to inform our representations to the Planning Inspectorate. Our representations helped to ensure project impacts on our client’s Grade II listed home were minimised. Ruth Jackson gave evidence at the Public Inquiry in 2013.

Our team worked with Adas UK Ltd. to provide planning services for three standalone wind turbines in the Scottish Countryside. We submitted applications to planning authorities in Dumfries and Galloway, Fife and North Ayrshire. Our experience of the Scottish planning system has been essential in progressing negotiations and consultations.
