In 2016, RJP worked with Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, Network Rail and artist Stephen Broadbent on plans to upgrade a locally significant mural on Trowbridge Street, close to Liverpool Lime Street station. The project forms part of Network Rail’s programme to upgrade rail services in the Liverpool City region. The original mural depicts figures of past local residents of the area, many of whose families still live nearby.
Completion of the original mural was rushed so that it could be unveiled by the Queen on a visit to Liverpool in 1989. The new mural will mirror the design of the original, but will be created from higher quality materials. We provided consents advice and supported the project team in carrying out a consultation event, at which a positive response was received from local residents and Councillors.
