The Durham Local Plan Examination has been taking place throughout November this year. Our senior town planner, Shaun Gaffey, attended for two days on behalf of the Auckland Project. Shaun made representations in relation to heritage policies, the visitor economy, sustainable transport and town centre regeneration. The planning inspector, William Fieldhouse, was very thorough and afforded us the opportunity to make representations to the emerging local plan in the context of the innovations being promoted by the Auckland Project. The final hearing session took place on 04 December 2019.
