As our student colleagues get back to university in Manchester and Liverpool, our core team has also been investing into their continuing professional development. We have attended: the RTPI’s design and heritage conference, finding out more about Manchester town hall’s restoration plans; the RTPI Labour Party conference fringe event, where we got fresh perspectives on the potential for devolution to support housing delivery, especially affordable housing; the Manchester City of Trees’ annual partners meeting, to hear about their successes in the last year building our City’s green infrastructure; and the Place North West Development Series, where we found out about some exciting new masterplans across Greater Manchester. Next up, the young planners conference in November, and preparing for the RTPI North West’s infrastructure conference next spring.
