This is an exciting project to replace a 1960s bungalow in the Stockport Green Belt, with a new, highly sustainable family home.

Our in house Green Belt expert, Shaun Gaffey, advised the client how to optimise the development potential on the site. A ‘fall back’ position was used to demonstrate what could be achieved under the General Permitted Development Order, and this was used to justify the scale of the submitted planning application scheme.

The client instructed a brilliantly experienced team, including Richard Hopkinson Architects, Nicola Jayne Landscape Design, and Dyse Engineering. Working collaboratively, the team was able to progress the client’s vision for a unique, modern and sustainable family home.

The Council unanimously approved the application in September 2021. The clients have now moved out of the existing bungalow and are getting ready to start work on their forever home. We wish them the best of luck, and look forward to seeing progress on site.
